Well folks here is your humble Ghostrifle labouring away to earn a crust. Just pausing for a few moments to drop you a line or two. To bring you up to date,my stalking weekend was a bit bitter sweet.
I got my Muntjac early on Saturday morning and spent the rest of the weekend trying for that elusive Fallow I have been wanting. Despite all my efforts and getting cold and wet I still haven't got my first Fallow. To be honest, some time on Sunday morning being stuck in a wet cold high seat looking at a lifeless field I began to review the situation of stalking in my life.
More of this later, time to return to earning an honest crust.

Questions
Now this weekend you humble Ghostrifle is off with the Yorkshire Elephant Murderer Peter Carr. Sitting in cold high seats after Fallow and Muntjac so the big question is .243 or .270? Another question of course is what should I put in the hip flask? Questions questions.

Work Beckons
Well that week went fast. still better for me than the crows that have been raiding my friends bird table in Wales. Rule 1 When a window opens fly off. Rule 2 Don't come back to see what has happened to your friend.
Work tomorrow, still a big weekend stalking in the offing watch this space.

Wales,Sleet and no Stalking
Today I am off to Wales for a few days near an out of season seaside.
As you can see by the photograph I will be living in rather nice conditions and not camping.
Bad news this morning (unless you were a fallow deer) that I sat in a dark car park for some time but the guide never turned up. So I still have a nice clean rifle.
I am going to dig the clay trap out and the trusty shotgun ready for my holiday adventure. Sleet outside the window turning to snow I shall be glad of my 4x4 by the end of the day no doubt.
Updates on my adventures on Sunday.

So 1 set thermal underwear.
2 pairs thermal socks

Favourite green hunting top.
Deerhunter Montana jacket plus trousers (Green)
Thermal hat (black), Face mask (camo), Mittens with fold backs for fingers (camo).
Belt ,Bolt holder , Knife (buck alpha) Bullet wallet (4 rounds) Binos (new Minox 10*40 review pending)
Grub boots (Stalker) Steyr .270win rifle mountain length with wildcat mod and s&b scope (8*56)
One stool (stand has no seat) 8 rounds of 130 grn 4 in mag 4 in wallet. Mobile phone, plastic gloves, something to eat and hip flask for the send off.

Cornwall
Well not doing so good at keeping this blog up to date so I thought I would have a mid feb resolution more orginal than a new year one don't you think. Also I need to say well done to my daughter Ana for passing her driving test. If you live in Plymouth stay off the roads.
I am just back from the sunny delights of Cornwall visiting mother. Just a touch of spring looking at the weather forecast this will not last.
